Home Hatching Kits:

This is a four-week program that includes everything you need to hatch quail chicks and care for them for a week. After that week, you can keep the chicks or send them back along with the equipment. It’s like having the “Miracle of Birth Center” from the Minnesota State Fair in your own home!

This program is great for homeschool families, elementary or preschool classrooms, daycare providers or families looking for a fun project to do at home. An elementary level curriculum is included with the rental that can be followed through the incubation, hatching, and brooding stages.

Cost is $200 plus $50 equipment deposit (refunded with equipment return). The kit includes the following.

  • 12 quail eggs (if you plan on keeping the chicks and want a larger flock, more eggs and a larger incubator are available for an additional charge).
  • An incubator with built-in egg candler.
  • A storage tote that will be used as the brooder box.
  • A safe heat plate to keep the chicks warm in the brooder.
  • Feed, feeder, waterer, absorbent pads, and pine shavings for bedding.
  • Complete hatching guide and step-by-step checklists.
  • Elementary-level curriculum.

Here’s a review of the program from Sheri D. in Ramsey:
“We had a great experience with the home hatching kit. Shane was wonderful to work with, helping with set-up and answering all our questions along the way. Everything was included to make it very simple for us to follow and also very educational and fun. The kids loved checking on the eggs and hatching week was exciting for everyone. It was a great hands-on experience that we wouldn't normally get to do and we learned a lot. Thank you!”
